This one is up for $1000 on eBay. I thought these chips were about 50 cents each right, because these can be purchased separately.. And the quantity of chips aren't specified, but the rows can't be more than 50 each (and may be less). So the set is 400 max. So what do you get for the extra $800 - the nice platinum locking case? |

Chips: 741 | | | Re: Casino Royale 007 Omega Set I think they're just fleecing the super-hardcore Bond fans here, using the same tactics that have suckered in amateur "collectors" for years -- just say that whatever you've got is "limited," print numbers on 'em, and somebody will pay through the nose for them. Never mind that they have no resale value -- the key to a collectible being dependent on both supply and demand. Just 'cause supply is limited doesn't mean anybody will want it down the line. |

Chips: 557 | | | Re: Casino Royale 007 Omega Set You are exactly right. Fleecing is the word. (I'm a bond fan but thank goodness it won't be making its way to my home)
Maybe we should design our own Chiptalk chips, do a Group Buy and then sell them as "limited quantity issues" at $4 each. Perhaps we could even talk the chip maker into serializing the chip numbers for authenticity
Oh and by the way - "limited edition" really means "limited to as many as they can sell" |

So yeah, it's a priority. If you don't understand, that's fine, but you shouldn't judge someone else who likes it. Some people like Hondas, some like Ferraris, and how much they pay is their priority.
-s- | here's what I'm thinking: if you can buy a 2006 honda accord for lets say 25 grand and then you go to another place and they are selling the exact same car for 35 grand why would you pay 10 grand more for the same thing? you can get these chips off of an actual store for far less and the case I'm sure you could find if you look at the right places.
that's what I get out of this auction, just my 2 cents |

Chips: 557 | | | Re: Casino Royale 007 Omega Set Well Honda or not, it did not sell.
I think the serial # on it was 093 out of 250. I wonder what it would be worth if you could get the one case made with serial # 007??? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
