HotStamp Small key(?) Sahara Reno UNC @ .50

Spinettis is selling these not sure if they are worth anything but I bought a box. Thought I point it to those that like hot stamps on white clay:

Re: HotStamp Small key(?) Sahara Reno UNC @ .50

by the way you can also buy them from spinettis in any quantitiy for .50 each plus if you put 21ace on the coupon code you get a 10% discount on top. The only problem I found when I did that was that the shipping was way over what they were aksing for on ebay. I think their cart is set up to charge shipping by quantity and when you put that many chips in they charge a fortune. Maybe if you call the order in they can fix it and you can get it for less than the auction.

Hey Locutios,
Those are neat! Please post a review when you receive them. Would you put them in play with any other chips?

Jose will post review when I get them. They do look sweet. No I don't think I will put them in play. I am a horder and collector of sorts so I like collectable chips but in quantities and mint (can't deal with just buying one or two of them). Something like this will go into my vault (well my office) and I will pull them out every so often to shuffle them. ahh my precious God forbid I put them in play and they get colored by some other chip like the $1 Paulson's Paharo's (spellcheck please) .
I know, I know I am weird

Re: HotStamp Small key(?) Sahara Reno UNC @ .50

I have 50 of these chips. They are very nice and in perfect condition. Weight is a little light (about 8 grams). I'd love to get some more but the various shipping and brokerage charges (Spinetti's ships via UPS) make these almost as expensive as Paulsons for those of us living north of the border.

Jose, I got them today: they are sweet. They are absolutely mint. The mold is the small greek (?) key and very good hot stamp, not the run of the mill work I see on other new chips. I not sure who made them but they have brass specs in them so they may have been made by ASM. BTW these are not white, which is a bit dissapointing because I really wanted white. If they had been white I would have bought another 200. I would say they are beige, cream, or almond not even off-white. I put them next to my .50 cent Desert palm clays from the chiproom and their color is almost identical. Again when comparing them to my .50 cents Desert Palms they are the same thickness. The extra thickness means that I can only put 19 of them on my paulson plastic racks instead of 20. I don't have a scale to weigh them but they are lighter than the Desert palms. Their weight is similar to the ASM horseheads I have but the fell like they have more substance, whatever that means. I think these chips are like 30 or 40 years olds and they are not dry at all. I would not oil them, they look perfect just as they are imo.
I will post some pics when I have a chance. Overall I think a really nice buy for about .50 cent a chip!
