Huge Paulson Le Cove Auction, 2800 Total

HI, if you remember my last auction all the chips went between 379-389 per 100, I've made the buy it now 340 on these and the reserve is 300.

They are all in great shape, everyone was very happy with the last auction. I should note that we rarely if ever used the 1's, 5's, 10's, 20's, 25's & 50's. The chips have been used about 3 times since my last auction in March, usually playing heads up with my girlfriend with a box of 500 and 1000's each.

If anyone is local and would like to pick them up and save on shipping that's fine too. Thanks.

Bob

Very nice, how much would you take for the entire lot of chips?

With the current market and even being used a couple times will make it hard for you to get that money now.
Oddly enough you have a starting bid of $250 and a reserve of $300 with a buy it now of $340???

Good luck

Re: Huge Paulson Le Cove Auction, 2800 Total

No one thought I was going to get a minimum of 379 per 100 of the last 600 I sold either.

I put them lower with this group in mind so some people could have full sets.

I don't understand the confusion about the starting, reserve and buy it now price. Not everyone who buys chips is a member of this forum, just like in other hobbies there are big collectors who never join any newsgroup or forum. How do you think I should have listed them? I just got the ebay email about the 15 cent listing day and said, what the heck I'll put these on there.

I came here to give the hardcore collectors a heads-up as to what the reserve was. I got many emails from here and ebay last time about sets, etc., so I thought I was making it easier by selling them cheaper than my last auction. A 300 dollar reserve is better than a 379 reserve and I'm not up on the current market but I know these chips have a lot of admirers and this is those peoples chance to have a set for life. Arconeldt says he has very little left on his auction. Maybe they'll sell maybe they won't but I already have multiple emails looking for large portions of them in less than 24 hours.

I just don't think a reserve is good with the starting bid and buy it now price you have set. Even getting $250 per 100 right now is very good IMO.

Regardless, these are nice fantasy chips...a bit pricey, I sure wouldn't spend that much for fantast chips, especially since you can get real casino chips for less than that. Nonetheless, good luck in you auctions, and at $0.15 a listing, what the heck, a pack of gum cost more than that. I can see why there are so many Ebay listing.........$0.15 damn that's low!

There's so many people here who have sets of different types, many people have the new paulsons.

If you're a person who wants real, soft paulsons to play with, it's a one time investment and you'll have them for life. Some people want the best, some don't mind an imitation. It all depends on you priorities, there's some things you don't skimp on, for instance I only want the best toilet paper, charmin! The cheap stuff is like sandpaper.

Some people want the best car, house, etc. If someone wants the best chips to play with, they'll buy mine, if price is an issue, they'll buy Pharoahs, etc. Different Strokes for Different Folks.

I thought I was offering a good deal considering that all of my other sets sold for 379 per 100 9 months ago. Whoever buys them will have no regrets.

Bob

I kinda like the Costco brand myself, butt (ha ha) to each his own.

Anyway good luck with your auction. I see that two of the racks already have bids! That surprised me, but you are onto something there.

Re: Huge Paulson Le Cove Auction, 2800 Total

It all boils down to the same issue that arose last time you visited us Bob. The Le Cove's are fantasy chips that are priced as mint casino chips (think Dunes golf course issue from Spinettis).

At least this time around we're not arguing whether they are or aren't fantasy chips though so we've made some progress.
