The Argosy chips are back on the market

I found a good deal on a set of Vineyards and it looks like I'm going to make the investment. This is going to be my biggest chip purchase and need to raise some funds to make it happen. In the next month or so I will be listing some of my Dunes, Crystal Oyster set and the rest of my President New Yorkers.

Here is the link to my current Argosy auction.

Re: The Argosy chips are back on the market

I would have put them on here but I really have not idea what they are worth. If there are no bids I would be willing to end the auction for $850. This is a little less then $1.50 a chip.

Really? If nobody bids we can have them for $850? I'm definitely not going to try and get them for the minimum bid of $500 then.

Shhhhhh..... I was going to bid $501.

On a more serious note, do you have close up pictures of the hotstamped side? Oh and good luck with your Ebids and your Vineyard purchase, they are pricey.

Meaning that I wouldn't end the auction if there is already a bid placed. If you get them for $500 then I would say you got a good deal on a nice set of chips.

Bano-- The chips are hot stamped on both sides. I will see if I can get a good picture of the stamp.

Re: The Argosy chips are back on the market

Thanks for the update King. You have cleaned both sides of the 589 chips. Woe, how long did that take? I noticed some posts regarding cleaning the chips. That alone should increase the price than what you paid for them. Cleaning the hotstamps off of chips is the reason I avoid getting the St. Jo's chips. They sure look nice, but the extra work I can do without.
Do those chips have the UV security feature on them?

Re: The Argosy chips are back on the market

The foil on the hot stamp came off very easy. I didn't spend much time trying to remove the mark that was left behind. My little brother cleaned most of these along with my Dunes and St Jo chips. He loves to play cards but being in school has him running low on cash. I toss him a little coin and he and I are both happy people.

I think these have the hat & cane visible under UV. I remember seeing a pic but can't remember where.
