From what I've seen of the movie clips, no chip values are less than 10,000... These are probably the replica chips that go for ~ $100 (don't know how to get a "pound" sign) that some con-man is trying to pawn off as authentic movie props. I could be wrong... his auction is "useless without pics". The "private feedback" is particularly sketchy. (I didn't even know you could do that)

on the other hand, i've dealt with some very reputable dealers (including several who frequent ct) who keep their feedback private. also, the seller does have 99% feedback, which would imply that there have been at least around 95 positive transactions since ebay rounds to the first decimal place. it's the absence of pics that seems sketchy to me...

As for the feedback, he could just have two accounts and bought from himself 100 times just to get his reputation up to 100... and keeps it private so you can't tell. The 1 negative could be from a legitimate transaction (i.e. the last time he tried this scam) or he could've done it on purpose so he has a "more realistic" 99% feedback rather than 100%.

I realize that would cause him to pay ebay fees 100 times, but if these are $2 worth of chips being sold for > $100, it might be worth it, even for a 1-time scam (and more likely 2nd time, given the negative feedback).

This is just an idea. It could be the real thing, but... I'm suspicious.

yeah, i'm just playing devil's advocate... for what it's worth, his account was created on feb. 18, 2006 and has 126 seperate positive feedbacks, 101 of them from unique users, and 1 negative in the past 6 months. it seems like a lot of work to generate positive feedback from 101 different accounts just to make $200. the seller also has another identical listing ending about 3 days after the 1st one.

You might be right, but whats the point of having private feedback?
Is it to hide whos buying what? I do not see why the seller do not want new buyers to read the pos feedback.

one reason for private feedback is to avoid the posting of...

" excellent ebayer- blow up doll arrived in perfect condition"
" excellent seller- all the midget porn movies were like new"
"A+++ the sex toys feel SO good- would buy from again"
" dresses arrived and apper to be hardly worn- high heels were wrong size but great seller"

Sweet... I actually repied to this post, then deleted it due to it being... um... off-colour?... Your comment was much funnier than mine anyway...
