Any info would be kewl, also pricing info as well. Don't think I'm ready to drop $50 bucks to buy SNIPE, which is what the website lists as the price though....

Hey Bsoder52,
Yeah, it is AWESOME -- I can't tell you, especially a few years ago before DSL/etc, how valuable this was -- in a nutshell you tell a separate computer to bid for you!
Auctionstealer.com -- it's a MUST for any person on ebay. I assume there are others but for the $ (basic set up is free) you can't beat it.
Advantages:
1) Set a max price and stick with it.
2) You DO NOT have to be present to win! -- it bids for you.
3) You can set it up to bid at 3 seconds left in the auction -- pretty tough for others to know you're out there ready to bid and even tougher for them to react!
4) I've NEVER lost an auction (unless it went above my max bid)
5) Nothing to download -- you log in and THEIR computers do the bidding.
Disadvantages:
1) Your max bid is set in stone -- now the system will tell you if you are pre-out bid so you can adjust -- but if you are out bid in the last minutes, you're out. Personally, I think is great because it keeps you from being emotionally caught up.
2) It costs money if you want to bid at 3 seconds left. Auctionstealer is free if you use it only a few times a month and you are OK with their system bidding for you with 30 seconds left (nowadays plenty of time for others to react).
Helpful Hints:
When I was a novice using Auctionstealer.com I inadvertantly (sp?) signed up for their MONTHLY billing -- which after the 4th month on my credit card statement I called and it took a bit of complaining but they backed off 3 of the months. TO AVOID THIS -- just be careful on what you click:
1) After you log-in or create an account there is normally a screen outlining all kinds of cost plans -- at the BOTTOM OF YOUR SCREEN -- normally out of view and you MUST SCROLL down to see it, is a button to continue on without choosing a payment plan.
2) Again after you log in and get by that first screen, you'll see a sidebar (left) where one little choice is AUCTIONS -- click on that and you're getting there.
3) From ebay, copy the item number -- enter it and verify it's the item
4) EDIT BID -- allows you to change the time/value etc.
5) My suggestion is that once you have your bid in, THEN PAY the $2 (it used to be $1 but hey, even at $2 it's cheap consider the thousands I figure I've saved using this system) - it takes PayPal.
6) DON'T FORGET after paying to go back and EDIT BID to change the time down to 3 seconds!
7) Sit back, watch a game, play cards or whatever -- you're days are done sitting at the computer trying to outbid someone! They never even know you're out there and when they refresh their computer for the last time and see YOUR NAME there they are left wondering, "How in the world....."

Once you've done this a couple times, it is super easy. Best of luck!
