I would've definitely bought this lot, no questions asked if I had come across the lot. I would expect him to do some investigative work and relist this stuff with a much bigger price tag.
The reason for the auction being pulled I'd have to say would be the result of too much information coming his way. It probably overwhelmed him and he pulled it.
