Peculiar Picture of an All-In Chip on Ebay

I don't know if it is my recent cherry being popped of a bad experience on ebay but now I am so suspicious of the least little thing.

In this auction for a 2006 WSOP All-IN chip the picture is from another auction and has been doctored, very poorly I might add.

I asked the seller why the picture was "messed" up where a serial number should be and here is his reply...

do you want me to send you an original copy with the serial #?just to clarify it foryou?

If the "All-In" chip is serialized, is there a way that it could be traced back to any one player? Then that player might be penalized or banned for taking it?

I don't believe so because from what I have read on the web (of which all of it is true) the All-In chips were given to the players for keeps.

Then I see no reason to blur out the serial number. Probably better to avoid this one. Good catch.

that's just insane, especially considering this multiple item auction for 30 chips that ended last week at $25/chip to multiple bidders... :

I have one that I snagged up for a Buy It Now of $60 when they first showed up on ebay. At the time I was a bit sick to my stomach as I had never spent that much on one chip! As soon as I got it in my hand all that belly aching was over. It is an awesome chip! So awesome I scooped up another $70 buyitnow 2 days ago.

I will bring it to work tomorrow and get a scan for everyone to gawk over!

Here's one with a $80 BIN if anyone wants it. I just can't part with that much cash on this chip when there are 9000 out there. But, it appears "cheap" compared to the other auctions..
