Chips: 349 | | | I didn't snipe in time, I guess I put in a bid on this auction with 30 seconds left and got shut out for some reason. This lucky bastard got away with murder. Even if the bid went through I might not have won, but would have made this guy pay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Rats | This was not a snipe. You bid way too early. You have to wait until 2 seconds left to snipe properly. |

Chips: 24 | | | Re: I didn't snipe in time, I guess I would say that is bad advice. If it's a weekend, eBay can be slower than snot, and you do not want to snipe with 2 seconds left. Your bid will NOT go through. I always time my snipes based on when they are ending... If they're ending late evening early morning then I'd do 10 seconds. If it's during the week during work hours or a weekend, I might bump it to 15-20... 2 seconds is cutting it way too close.
Best bet... Read the forums on auctionsniper to see other user experiences... Quote: |

BTW, that is an extraordinary deal on those chips. |

Rats | I suggest you use one of the sniping services such as esnipe.com. I have used them for many years and they do a good job. Their default is to submit the bid at 6 seconds remaining, although you can change this to suit your needs. Six seconds seems to work well for me. |

Chips: 349 | | | Re: I didn't snipe in time, I guess Guys, did you read my post? I had almost 30 seconds to place my bid and it didn't go through. I even emailed Ebay about it because in 6 years this has never been a problem to get a bid in before time ran out. That is frustrating to no end. |

As for the bid not going through, I have had that problem too but not often. Most likely a disconnect. |

That is frustrating to no end. | One Tactic that I've used to effectively fight OFF SNIPERS on auctions that I've bid on is to use Firefox to open 40-50 pages (yes it's excessive, but alls fair) , using multiple tabs for the same page, and simple hit "refresh all" for the last minute or so.
With multiple hits for updates on the auction pummeling the server, it seems to thwart would-be snipers.
