Bud Jones Mirage Springs Sample Set

This is my auction on e-bay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MESE%3AIT&rd=1

It is for these:

This is your chance to get an entire set of Bud Jones chips from a closed CA casino. They look almost brand new.

I am also including (1) well used Paulson $1 ElDorado Club chip which is a great example of a Paulson chip that has seen a good amount of table play.

Bid em up!

Re: Bud Jones Mirage Springs Sample Set

These are great looking chips.

Does anyone know what sort of price these chips usually sell for (per chip) and their availability? I looked briefly at Spinettis (someone mentioned them in connection to these chips in another thread) and didn't see them listed for sale.

I'm not sure you should rely on the seller for this type of info, but I will tell you what I have seen and know.

I called Spinettis as I saw the same thing as you did. The only ones they have left are the 100's and they want $4 ea for those.

I have only been watching these for the last several weeks so I have a very limited amount of experience as far as e-bay prices/availability. Everyone seems to have a reserve of somewhere between $3-$5/chip on these. The $25 & $100 seem to be at the upper end of that range and the others at the lower end of that range. This is for single chips.

As far as availability, it seems that it is relatively difficult to find these chips. Do a search on e-bay. You can try other variations but this might work well "mirage springs" + (chip, chips) My guess is that at one time it was probably easier to get them than it is now.

Based on my limited amount of info I would think that the set might go for somewhere between $20 and $30. btw the Paulson El Dorado is basically a throw away. I paid $50 for 100 of those a while back. They are easy to obtain and there are a lot out there, especially in the condition that this one is in.

I'm sure that others might know more or may have other info, but I am trying to represent accurately what I have recently seen.

Value on chips is sometimes a little sketchy at best. It might fluctuate greatly due to how the auction is worded, the number of people that see the auction and how patient they might or might not be. For example, if someone wants a sample set of Bud Jones chips from a real casino but is unaware that Mirage Springs chips might be available and they did a search for "Bud Jones" + (chip, chips) they would never see the auction that you have mentioned above. In case you don't know the above search will look for the exact words of "Bud Jones" and either the word (chip or chips)

DrBullMoose has been trying to put together a set for months. He has an adjenda, he is trying to buy these chips cheaply. I have an adjenda, I am trying to sell them for as much as possible.

This is called a market.......

Re: Bud Jones Mirage Springs Sample Set

I would say your agenda is the reason I am posting here. You are out to make as much money as you can, at the expense of other Chiptalker's. And I am out to protect the interests of Chiptalker's so they don't get screwed by the dollar signs in your head.

I am offering a different opinion, one that says you shouldn't be making a 300% profit by artificially increasing the price of the chips. I posted an auction from ebay that shows everyone that these chip sample sets are worth $9.95. They simple do not command the $20-$25 prices you are hoping for.

Its called being fair to the end consumer......
