I've started a little collection of binion chips and this is the first time I've seen this one. The inlay with benny, over the h&c doesn't look right to me, maybe it's just me.
Looks completely real to me... its a 48mm chip... I've never seen an inlay that big on a 48mm chip before though (its way bigger than grand). You can see what a "giant" inlay looks like on 43mm, 48mm and 39mm chips here: http://members.cox.net/chillbar/chips/pson.jpg (the bottom row)
Manity/Guma: the 43mm chip has the inverted hat/cane mold--only the 39mm chips are made with the RHC mold. I don't know what they call the mold on this one.
Its a real chip - I have one of them. Now what they used it for is another question that I dont have the answer to.
It is an oversized H&C (never measured it but probably 43mm). Its a 1000 NCV chip with the stagecoach picture on the obverse and the benny in a horseshoe on the reverse. If I get around to it I will add some hi-res photos. The EBAY auction shows it in a velvet case, mine came in a direct-fit capsule. Boy was that a bear to get out of the capsule.
I dont know what it was used for. But this is the third one I have seen for sale. Its recently been relisted as the reserve was not met the first time.
A while back I posted a series of pictures where they had reused the stagecoach artwork. I think it was like 4 times (the $1 and $5 from the Harrahs era, this chip, and the $25000 prototype chip). They got their money's worth from the artwork.
