Chips: 1,517 | | | Re: Casino Invest chips on Ebay! What is it with all the negativity here? This is an honest sale and a chance to get some nice and unique casino chips. These chips are mine and never belonged to fetishgirl. I have shouldered the sales of her remaining chips but I bought these months later. She only had 1500 of these and she sold all of them back in 2005. |

I just lost another sale because the buyer saw these negative responses and freaked out. It seems people think that I am trying to sell chips that doesn't exists? Good luck finding a buyer that I've scammed! I've never had anything but positive responses from my buyers and I've sold to many people on here and at 21ace. |

Chips: 1,986 | | | Re: Casino Invest chips on Ebay! I have no problem with the chips or the sale in general. But you're doing some shady eBay things that a lot of us frown upon.
You're keyword spamming. You're using words that people often search on to get people to see your auction even though your auction has nothing to do with those keywords.
For example how is bud jones related to the auction? Paulson and Bud Jones are both owned by GPI but just because they both have a parent company in common doesn't mean they have anything to do with each other. I can't think of a good example but I'm sure you can somewhere find an arms company and toy manufacturer that have the same parent company. You're using bud jones to draw people searching for bud jones to your auction; if you searched for chipco and got an auction that said "BR Pro (not chipco but like them)" and didn't include any chipco chips wouldn't you find it annoying?
Including a single Paulson chip is another type of keyword spamming but not anywhere near as bad. You're including a single Paulson chip so that people looking for paulson chips find your auction. A little in the gray area but still not the most forthright way to sell things.
And finally mentioning they're either B&G or Chipco could be keyword spamming but I know you're a good guy so I'll take your word for it that you honestly don't know.
They're like used car salesman tactics. Maybe not illegal or against the rules (keyword spamming actually IS against the ebay rules) but definitely a little slimey. |

Chips: 1,517 | | | Re: Casino Invest chips on Ebay! This is my second try selling anything on Ebay. First try was a disaster. Only a few people ever saw my auction. I asked here in the auction links forum how I could get more hits and got the tip to put more searchable words in the title, since a lot of people search for "Paulson", "Bud Jones" etc. As far as I remember, no one objected to that tip back then. Therefore, and because I don't have a lot of experience with Ebay, I thought that this was "ok" and that people usually do this. I knew that it would probably be a bit doubtful according to the Ebay rules but I really had no idea that what I did was so terribly wrong that I should be embarressed and that people here would get pissed off. If this turns out to be another disaster I will probably never try to sell anything on Ebay again. Either way I will not "keyword spam" again, ok? | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
