Agreed. Where's the scamming? This is a pretty well-worded auction as far as I can tell. That is, assuming it is a nexgen. Hard to tell in that blurry graphic.
While I wouldn't call it a scam, I don't think I'd call it a replica either. With the exception of the bear, it's nothing like the KGB chip--different chip maker, different mold, different colors, different edge spots. With that rational you could call any ASM chip with the roman mold a KGB replica.
Clearly worded, but only for those who know what nexgen means. The main problem I have with using replica is that as far as the clay goes it does not have anything in common with the original except the black. There is no green at all. If you put them in a chip rack you would not even confuse them in the slightest. I realize that the inlay is virtually identical, but you would think using the word replica was that it was designed from the manufacturer to be a replica as opposed to some guy putting a sticker on a chip.
This person does have an excellent feedback record and the person who wins will get their chip just like it is pictured, but if I were a buyer and the chip just had a sticker in the middle that could come off I would be ticked off for $5 + Shipping.
I will say this it is up to the individual consumer to do his or her own market research. The seller put what he needed to do to stay honest. I am sure that a small to medium percent of people bidding will think it is a clay chip not a sticker chip. The feedback will be interesting.
I think for a newbie buyer a better picture would be a little more helpful. This has a horrible blurring and it would only seem that it would be to possibly benefit the confusion as opposed to clarifying it. Some people do now know the term NEXGEN means a brand of chips. Some people new to this chip thing could interpret this is literally the next generation chip (better then the original).
It is clearly labeled for those who know what to look for. Not real clear as far as picture and "nexgen". Not crystal clear, but not a scam either.
