Chips: 391 | | | Re: NY $1000 Primary, auction $28 buy it now RC could have made a MINT if he just sold 500 of each and then the need is there and auction on ebay the other 2000. That would be 56,000$ at 28$ each....CRAZY Quote: |

But i get what you're saying. jeeezzz. this is like Qualcom stock back in 1999. |

You never know if you have a winner or not and have to carry the initial costs for potentially a very long time. I would bet that it was the sudden interest from this group alone that helped drive up a substantial run of sales for this dealer. What is interesting is that the Dunes $500 and $1000 chips are selling for less than the NY $1000 now and that is way out of proportion to the real value of these chips. |

YOU Can't Go WRONG WITH PAULSONS!
On the issue of the Dunes chips, one's motivation is somewhat different. Collectors buy Dunes because of its history, design and is therefore an absolutely fabulous "old school" chip. In other words, cool old school casino chips do not carry the same premium as cool modern casino chips with security features that you can tell your buddies about. So I think the price of NY'rs are pretty accurately priced right now.
After all, Dunes chip sets are still more expensive. I think a 300 Dunes chip set would fetch about $1000, while a 300 piece set for a NYr would only fetch $500-600 or so (as of today). One may even argue that Ny'rs are undervalued.
And don't forget the going rate for a $10 Vineyard. Those are going for $40+. Yeah, that would mean that weirdo denoms in low productions like the $20, and $ 2.50 should spike any day! |

Chips: 504 | | | Re: NY $1000 Primary, auction $28 buy it now These are really nice chips, I just dont think they're worth $30-$40 a piece, and I would think their value will eventually plummet, but who knows, maybe they'll maintain or even skyrocket....Demand would say they would, but who knows.
But if any of those chips are worth that price, its these....I dont even like the look of the secondary's personally and they're selling just as high which to me is just plain crazy.
But wear what you dig I guess-
