I realized recently that I can no longer use 300 chiptalk chips to get the ever so sexy Egyptian octagon. I'm glad I got one of these recently along with some other samples and it will be my card protector until further notice. I don't know if this is the first of many, but a quick google search pulled up this link:

1. A "dutch" auction so the seller can put the cost as a 1 chip cost (4.50 a piece)
2. Shipping is not specified and 'will be determined by the final weight of the amount of chips purchased'. Somehow I suspect it will end up being 9.99 for a single chip.

Was $2.19 when sold direct.
The plaques are $15.00 each (was $5something I think)

Yup, I've been watching both of those auctions. I thought maybe it was mspatton's auctions since the location is the same city. Not sure though.

These were originally available at holdempokerchips.com as part of the egyptian set. They no longer offer them individually on their web site.

Are they completely sod out?

HPC had them, then sold out, then very recently got some more. It looks like they sold out of those, too.

the issue is not that they're sold out. the issue is that chipco won't be making any more octogons, plaques, or oversized chips for the home market.

Damn I was about 5 days away from ordering a plaque and octagon (entire set of Eqyptian samples actually). Now can't see me bothering since I can't get them anymore.

This is my auction you are talking about (100 dutch octagons). I am not going to rape anyone on shipping. I am open to suggestions for specific verbage that I might use to make people feel at ease. I didn't think that I was going to sell one or two at a time, I thought people were going to buy 10-25 for their own sets. I am new at this. I live in the same town as holdempokerchips and I got them from him. I got lucky. This auction will not be continuing after I sell my 100 chips I am done. If you look at my feedback rating I have had 108 successful transactions with a 100% feedback. I am not into jabbing people over shipping. I will ship Fed ex ground for what I pay only upon completion of the I will weigh and give dimensions of the box and you can check it at fedex.com.

You really should have a shipping quote available so people know what it is before they bid. If you can do a quote after the auction, why can't you do one beforehand?

Since shipping is dependant on weight, I can not quote until I know how much weight is involved. At the end of the auction, I will know how many chips and to what zip code. If one person were to buy them all, then it would be easy to quote, however, some people only want 1 or 2 chips as collectibles and others might want 30 for their set. So people can contact me and ask "hey how much shipping for 40 chips sent to zip code 08564?" then I would weigh out 40 chips with a box and packaging to the appropriate zip.

Look, we all have been burned by ebay shippers, I hate it as well. I am willing to only charge what it cost me, but I am not willing to lose money on it. I am only trying to be fair. If someone has an idea, I am open to it.

I would have gladly modified the description to address the shipping in detail, but ebay will not let me change anything once someone has bid.
