President New Yorker chips

I found these chips on ebay. The price is kind of high which is why I don't think any have been sold yet. I did buy a sample set though. Seems like this person has a bunch. Anyone else seen these. Could they be the next Crystal Parks or Vineyards? I wonder if a GB would help bring down the price. Check out seller other seller items for sets of 20.

Re: President New Yorker chips

Given the kind of fantasy copy that goes into eBay ads, I suppose it's not all that unusual, but what is it about a casino in the middle of Manhattan that doesn't sound quite right?

Nice looking chip though.

He will sell sets of up to 400 chips @ $2.25 each.

Over 400 @ $2.00 each.

If you Google that casino name it comes up as a gambling cruise venture. I got bored looking and quit, but what I got out of it was that some one had a great idea, announced their intent, ordered the chips and then got turned down by the city before the boat ever left the dock.

If "someone" (meaning not me) was serious about a group buy and could possibly get the price down a little further, I'd be in for a small set to add to my collection.

Looks like President Casino is (or was) a riverboat casino in St. Louis on the Mississipi. Don't know if the website is current or not.

Anybody else?

Thanks for the info Wilson. I didn't think looking up the casino. ops: I thought the chips might be a fantasy set after I posted. Its better that they are not. But I tell you, the spots on the $100 are awesome.

I'll see how much interest these chips gain and maybe contact the seller regarding his quantities. Or wait a while for the prices to drop. But at $2 each, I think someone will buy them.

The thing I want to know is. How do I come across cases of authentic Paulson for a casino that never opened and pay probably less than a dollar a chip.

What's with the $20 chip? I've seen $10's and $2.50, but $20 is just odd.

$10 and $20 chips are common in cardrooms and the poker rooms of casinos. As are $1/2/3 chips

He won't lower the price below $2 a piece. He compared them to possibly becoming like the Vineyard and Bond chips now selling for $3-4 each.

Can't blame anybody for capitalizing on the poker boom. Too many chip junkies willing to part with their their money these days for the "latest & greatest".

Sad to say I'm one of them....... That's why I hang out here, it reminds me I'm not the only one.

But wait, I wasn't one before I started hanging out here.

$20 chip

$20 chips are typically used at stud/hold 'em tables with limits of $30/$60, and $40/$80.

oddly enough, i've never seen them used at $10/20 or $20/40

Unless there is some legitimate collector value to the chip, I couldn't see paying $2 for a chip that I'm going to be putting into actual use. "Comparing them to becoming... " Is pure speculative BS to try and justify his price. If no one falls for his come-on and he racks up enough eBay fees for auctions that receive no bids he might change his mind. The problem, though, is that there are far too many gullible people ready to plunk down serious cash for anything from Paulson (and as we've seen over the past couple of days, even Chinese knock-offs of Paulsons.)
