Check this out. Supposedly they had alot of problems with people pocketing the $100 chips. They also had problems with people slipping the black gift shop chips into play. They found them hidden in stacks of chips. Since they could not prove where exactly the chip came from, the players who were found with the chip in their stack were given an actual $100 chip to replace it.
I heard that they were replacing the counterfeits with real 100's but I believe that was only at the very beginning when the counterfeits were discovered. Soon after, everyone was warned that they were responsible for their own chips, no replacements....I'm also trying to remember if the T.D's were threatening disqualification??
Looks like the auction got pulled for some strange reason. The seller seems to have a couple of items that may have come off the Rio floor. Looks like a first time seller too.
Wasn't there a story about someone who posted pics of those chips on 2+2 or somewhere and the Rio called them and said we want our chips back NOW! I was kinda surprised this guy was getting away with it, but looks like maybe he didn't after all.
Odd that he would wait this long before putting them up on eBay if he stole them from the Rio floor, maybe he bought them from someone else.

I saw that, but the inlay on that one doesn't look the same as the one on the 100 chip to me. It looks like there's no hologram on it or something. Did you notice the different look?
I dunno. Holograms don't show up very well in photos to begin with it would be hard to tell. And maybe I just don't see the logic in it, but I find it hard to believe that someone would pay $45 for a set-up of the Copag cards, when they're going to be available soon anyway. eBay just seems like such a scammers paradise when it comes to collectables.

I bought some ceramic chips that looks like the once they were used in the 2004 WSOP but the ink would sort of come off. Good thing I only bought a sample set.
