Re: ABC Custom Poker Chips Sample Sets Now Available!

I actually have already designed a few color wheel chips. I think there would be too many colors to add to the sample set though. I was doing 8 colors per side of a chip. I think a five chip set might be good...that would give 80 colors if my math is right. How does that sound?

Thanks,
Gene

Just like Chipco's color wheel chips ... sounds good. I'd want a sample pack of color wheels.

Yeah, color wheels would be great. I've got Chipco samples but would like to compare to ABC 'apples-to-apples' as well. Any idea if you really are going to do this, and when?

Re: ABC Custom Poker Chips Sample Sets Now Available!

I'll try to get the color wheel chips done soon...when they are done I'll definitely post to let you know. Since I'll be choosing 80 colors out of 10,000,000 CMYK possibilities (if I remember how to do that math right) I'm sure our color chips will have a different range of colors than other companies' chips. Hopefully they will provide a good range of colors to choose from that will be beneficial to those who would like the color wheel chips!

Thanks,
Gene

Can't wait for my samples to arrive! The aligned edge spots might just seal the deal!

Samples Received

I received my samples today (not colour wheels).

The texture makes all the difference. I don't care much for the smooth variety. And I don't think you give up much in terms of print quality to go to the textured blank.

The print quality is excellent. Colours are nice, better than I had hoped, and the aligned edgespots really make a tremendous difference.

I'm on the same page as you ... I think the textured ones definitely FEEL better in your hands ... and the print quality between the 2 is very small, but I can still notice, others might not ... it's sort of a give and take : a better feel (textured) or a sharper/crisper graphic (smooth).

I'm still waiting for my samples. How do the ABC textured compare to chipcos?

Well, you'll soon find out right? Assuming you have Chipcos to compare them to.

Chipcos have a slightly textured surface, but they WILL smooth out over time (and relatively quickly I'd say). ABC's textured chips are very obviously "rough", and I don't really see them losing that texture anytime soon with regular use.

Re: ABC Custom Poker Chips Sample Sets Now Available!

I didn't find the ABC's textured chip very rough. But then, I'm comparing it the Nevada Jacks "sandpaper" Skulls.

I like a lot of texture.
