Re: Pocket-rockets suck AAs

Background:
I'd been watching the Dallas vs. San Jose hockey game and stayed up to watch it end. Decided to play some poker while I was at it. Well, the game went to the 7th period, so it's 2:30 AM now, and Morrow finally scored the game winner.

I've unchecked the "auto-post blinds" buttons on all 4 of my 6-max $25NL tables and am winding down for the night. Down to my last hand at my last table (UTG), and I'm dealt AA. My immediate thought: Great, there go my winnings for the night.

I don't remember exact stack sizes or suits, but I'm the big stack (maybe ~ $60), and Villain has $23.50. He has been a pain in my butt all night; keeps out-flopping my high pairs, and on 2 occasions when I had AK on a K-high flop, he's played KX and caught X on the river for 2-pair. I don't remember how much BigBlind has; probably around $25.

Villain posts SB of 10¢.
BigBlind posts BB of 25¢.
jdunford is dealt [ ].
jdunford raises to $1. (in hindsight, I wish I'd raised more, but I expected somebody behind me to re-raise, as had been the trend at this table)
Three players folded.
Villain calls 90¢. (could have anything)
BigBlind calls 75¢. (could have anything)
($3 in the pot, less rake)

Flop:
[ ]

Villain bets $2.
BigBlind calls $2. (took him a while)
jdunford raises to $10. (after thinking for a long while)
Villain calls $8. (instantly)
BigBlind folds.
($25 in the pot, less rake)

Turn:
[]

Villain checks. (after thinking for a long time)
jdunford checks. (took a few seconds; I'm pretty certain I'm beat - just hoping the board pairs on the river)

River:
[]

Villain bets $12.50 and is all-in. (didn't hesitate)
jdunford goes into the bank.

jdunford writes (chat): This is my last hand tonight
jdunford writes (chat): And I'm holding AA...

What would you do?

Outcome to be posted tomorrow evening.
Outcome:

jdunford writes (chat): What the heck... I pay off your straight.
jdunford calls $12.50.

Villain shows for a pair of aces.
jdunford shows for three of a kind, aces.
jdunford wins pot of $50 less rake.
