Re: Sun Tzu -Art of War- Mockups

First of all, thank you for all your comments and criticism on the design.

I think the design is on the right way and I tried to give all the constructive suggestions a try.

@ jaeden
Step2 is your reduction of the bit busy design with just the Tournament and Cashgame texts kicked out. On the front the rectangles are still there, but they look stupid, as they don't fulfill a task anymore.

--> well it's my privat set, but I put in Step3 with only tourney denoms to make sure this won't be a disturbing factor in the further development of the chip. As I said, this is changed in a few minutes for all denoms.

The font is a little difficult to read. I think I'd prefer something cleaner and less "cartoonish".

I'd remove the embossing that you put on the edge of the faces to make it look rounded.

I would also get rid of "tournament", "cash game", "no cash value", and "the art of war" on the right side of the chip (as well as the rectangles those words are sitting on). I feel like it takes away from the great artwork behind it.

I'm not sure how I feel about the quotes from the Art of War. I think I could keep them or leave them. I'm just not sure... Maybe in a different cleaner more classy font I'd like it more.
1. Yeah, I wasn't too sure about the darker back also. Most important behind that decision was to make the text better readable. If you have any ideas how I can make sure it is without darkening the background I'm in for it. (have tried it with stronger shades around the text in step3 and I like it)

2. I only had the Chinyen-Font as I started the original Art of War design. The denom is done in another font I got later and I changed everything to this font.

3. The embossing was only for the collection-grafic. The original emboss is much lesser eminent and won't be seen on the chips. -see below-

4. cleaned the design conpletely in Step3 and cut out the rectangles, as I said before... without text they look meaningless. And I put a completely cleaned version in Step3 just for you, so you can see the artwork completely.

5. a NO GO. The wisdoms are part of the whole idea behind the design and can't be put out of it. I changed the font to bonzai in Step3 and make it a bit larger as I have now more space with the rectangles gone. Meanwhile I also got Samples fpr the first "Art of War" design and they're great already. You can read the text perfectly and there are some chips with long texts were the font is extremely small.

===> so back to everybodys opinion. See below some further steps taken and let me know what kind of development you like best. If possible also say something to different fonts and so on. The steps can easily be mixed to get the best result.

Thx in advance.

Cheers,
Pils
