I agree -- the $ does not need to be in the normal spot, but should be consistent (in the middle, in the second zero, in the last zero, whatever).
I like the Italian lettering.

If you take out the Euro and go with the denoms only, it will appeal to a larger audience. I think the Euro symbol may keep some people from wanting to vote for/buy your design. Just my 2 cents.
Oh yeah, I like the title in Italian, too.

One last thing - this is just personal preference...
I would make all the denoms on the edges the same size. You'll have to make the edge spot a little bigger, but not much, and the 10000 will match with the rest of the denoms.

New modifications. The black and orange have changed, the edge are bigger, and i removed the euro symbol.
