Re: Poker Table Preferences

Smooth felt with no graphics - you dont want the cards hitting anything and flicking over while dealing.
Round table - easier while dealing, it is hard to deal from the ends of an oval table plus you can see everyones chip stacks easier.
Wide firm but comfortable rail that you can lean on without bumping your chips if they are hard up against it.
No wooden race track - horrible to have chips on and just makes the playing area smaller. I do like the idea of two different kinds of felt to signify chips in play once they go past the outer felt.
No cup holders = no spills and its also hard to deal with a bottle or glass in front of you, keep your drinks off the table.
A single solid post under the middle of the table with long feet at the bottom to keep the table steady. Multiple legs on a table suck for anyone who has to dodge them the whole night.
No inbuilt chiptrays, dealer position, or any other stuff just felt with a fat rail. I dont like foam under the felt either. it makes your chip stacks wobbly. Just make sure the playing surface is well sanded and waterproofed before the felt is put down. If the surface under your felt is waterproof any spills can be dried up really quickly. I may have other advice but cant think of it right now. (i finally uploaded an avatar too)
