Oops. I mis-voted.
We run
four decks (all four different colored Copags). The person who will deal shuffles their own deck. They offer it up to either side of them to cut (depending on who is in a hand at the time).
Usually, when one person busts out (when we play tournaments) they become the dealer. On the first bust out, the players keep shuffling and handing them off to the dealer. Once we lose a second, the newest busted deals and the other shuffles for a while. They will bounce back and forth and absorb busted players into the dealing mix. This may change now that I have a dedicated cash set on the way!!
With four decks, we can keep a pretty good flow going, even though we have some who aren't the best shufflers in the world (they are getting better though).
That said, I did just pick up several decks of gently used casino KEMs that are great! The only problem is they are either green or brown backs. We may have to back off to a two deck game
