it's hard to say, although his absence in the big game doesn't mean anything. the reason that HOH are so good is not b/c he's the best tournament player. if i had to guess, i'd say he's somewhere in the top 200-300 tournament players currently. this isn't meant as a diss, just a realistic guess. the books were great b/c bill robertie is a great writer, and b/c they took their time (and a ton of space) to very logically and thoroughly lay out some basic concepts that hadn't been laid out before.
in HOH1&2's 700 pages or so, there's really not anything revolutionary. they're just really strong basic concepts done well.
