if you want to play AA in a small pot, then limp. if there's a raise, make a big reraise. not a little crafty reraise. if it gets limped around then don't go ape when you get raised, and practice folding.

if you want to make AA into a big pot, then bet it like you have stones, young'ins!
Well, since I've got JoJo here, I'll list my entire hand history from my live tournament this weekend. It won't take long; only played 4 hands.

T50,000. 8-players. Blinds start at 300-500. 20 minutes levels, with antes starting in round 3. 1 re-buy or add-on per person (full buy-in for another T50,000). All but one player has been pretty loose so far. I've played with everybody several times before. Extremely loose-passive player on my right -- plays ATC pre-flop, regardless of pre-flop action. I've literally seen him play 100% of hands to the flop in a 3 hour tournament before... and win! Anyway, solid TAG player on my left. Otherwise a mix of TAGs, LAGs, and LPs, but the players on my immediate left and right will be the only players that matter.

Exactly 1 orbit in, still round 1 (300/500). I'm the BB, with .
Everyone limps (family pot) to me. I raise to 6,000. Several people chuckle and comment on my "huge over-bet". All fold, except the SB (uber-LP player), who calls. I have yet to play a hand, so have a little under 50,000; he has slightly less from limping into every pot so far.
Flop is .
He bets 10,000. Now, this tells me exactly what he has: top-pair-no-kicker. I know this, because he slow-plays (check-calls, then all-in on the river) TPTK or stronger, and he check-calls any weaker pair and/or A-high. I've seen him do it 100 times before.
Happy that I have him crushed, I raise to 20,000. He insta-calls.
Turn is . Sh*te!
He checks.
I smile at him and check, knowing 100% that he just made trips.
Turn is a blank. He doesn't even look at it, and says "all-in".
I smile at him, and quietly state "fold" as I flip over my AA for all to see. He smiles and shows proudly, like it's the nuts.

One could claim that I should've pushed on the flop, but I know he would have called (I've seen it before), and I would have busted, so I'm glad I waited for the turn.

Anyway, 1/2 of my stack gone.

2nd round, blinds are 500-1000. Early position, and I have .
I raise to 6,000.
A couple of snickers, and I get 3 callers from the other end of the table.
Flop is .
We check around on the flop.
Turn is .
I check.
TAG-ish player bets the pot.
Everyone folds, and I show that I had KK.
She shows . I smile.

3rd round. Antes kick in, so it's 100-500-1000. My M is around 5.
I push with from the middle of the table.
Two callers.
Flop is .
They both get all-in.
I don't remember the turn or river.
Turns out they have and .
I'm toast. Re-buy.

Two or three hands later (not even half an orbit), I'm BB again.
This time I have .
Everyone limps; Family pot - 1 with my option.
I jokingly say "I really should raise with this hand, but we saw where raising has been getting me, so I check." A couple people snicker.
Flop is .
Jack-pot! ... as long as nobody flopped a set...
SB checks. He could have nothing, or he could have a set. Doesn't matter; he's down to just over 15,000 in chips, and I've got a fresh stack (minus a couple antes).
I bet 5,000, which is about half the pot.
TAG to my left raises it to 15,000. I'm feeling joyful.
Folded around to the SB, who pushes all-in, which is barely more than a call.
I contemplate the situation and decide, "screw it, I'm all-in."
TAG player on my left groans. He thinks for a while, finally decides to call. I'm sweating bullets, thinking he has 66.
He shows . LAG on my right shows . There is a god after all! Hallelujah!
Turn is a blank.
River is .
My tournament is over. God hates me.
