| Re: My ratings of plastic cards I own (or have owned). Here are the impressions of the following cards that I have come across:
Modiano - My favorite. They have a very slight "texture" to the cards, & tend to be slightly stiffer & more substantial than other plastic cards.
Dal Negro - Close to Modiano, the texture seems to be on 1 side only. Almost a cross between Copag & Modiano.
Da Vinci - a notch below DaL Negro. Very good cards.
Kem - Highest quality of the "smoother" type plastic cards. Great cards, although I prefer the feel of the Dal Negro/Modianos after using both.
Copag - A card that is similar to Kems, uses a different stock but is a very similar, non textured Hi quality plastic card.
Hoyle Club Casino - A cross between cheap plastic cards & copag. Available in local "Walgeens" type drugstores for about $3-$4 /deck, A very suprisingly "useable" deck of cards....
Cheap plastic - Royal, China made, dollar store, & other no name plasticcards. Very slick, slippery & shiny. A last resort over paper cards (but it's almost a tie).
Index/color - I also prefer large index to either Jumbo or Regular index. "Poker Peek" diagonal indexes are way too small & annoying , I would, however, like to see a diagonal peek style with a larger index , but they don't yet exist.
4-color decks are geat for "online" play , where I prefer it, but live I much prefer the regular 2 color decks.
Deck Size - After learning that most casino Poker rooms use "Bridge" sized cards, & "poker size" is actually used more for BlackJack & table games , I am starting to prefer the slightly narrower Bridge size, although most of my cards & play is still with "Poker" size cards at this time. |
