Re: 7 To 8 Hour Poker Tourney

depends on the number of chips you have and colours, the above tourney set up will require you to have 5 different colours min...

if you have only 4 colours i'd suggest a 25/100/500/1000 tourney,
If you want length allow re-buys and an add-on (1 or 2x rebuy stack amount)
Start with, 2000 approx in chips, and re-buy for 2000 chips
25/50
50/100
75/150 (end rebuys after this level and have a break, then allow an add-on)
100/200 (elimination starts at this level, rebuys and add-on will signifigantly add to the pot
200/400
300/600
400/800
500/1000
600/1200
700/1400
800/1600
900/1800
1000/2000
1500/3000
2000/4000
3000/6000
4000/8000
5000/10000
each level could be 30 min, or you could drop the time on the levels at the later stages, say once u hit the 1000/2000 stage and beyond you could drop to 20 min levels being that there will be less players by this point. But if you and your friends are looking for a solid 8 hr tourney this would work at 30 min, your entry fee could be $40, with $40 rebuys and a 1 or 2x add on of $40 or $80. You could be that nearly everyone would go in for the double add-on (at least they do in most of the games i play in) that would set everyone in for $120, not including re-buys.

A long tourney like this could be played at a freeze out with 5000 in chips except that players knocked out early would have nothing to do for the next 5 or 6 hours. at least with rebuys/add-ons they could all play for at least 2 hrs or so.
