took my revenge on gmunny!!!!

I got addicted to poker chips via gmunny who pointed out the ChipTalk site late last year. It all began so slowly... dice chips... then Pro Clays... then Pharaohs... then Casino Dinos... cards... more cards... monthly games... tournaments... etc. It was like a snowball that kept on getting bigger, and just rolled faster and faster!! However, there is one thing I won't blame gmunny for, and those are my chip & card boxes. That I did to myself (with the help of JLHBOXES of course).

But the bottom line is gmunny cost me some serious dough with all this spending on poker chips and stuff! Plus he sometimes beats me at his home games and my home games.

Finally, this week I had my chance for revenge. Since gmunny and I work in the same neighborhood, gmunny asked to see some China Dunes samples. You know, just bring a couple of every denom and see how they feel and stack up. He said he didn't really need them since he's got a pretty sizeable and awesome collection.

On the last day of the sale, I brought him all 650 Dunes chips in a nice shiny aluminum case and plopped it on his desk. What's this BS with just a couple of chips???! If he only had a couple of chips in his hands, he may still be able to resist the allure of the China Dunes. But seeing all 650 chips, arranged by denom & color, and confirming the consistency of sound, feel, labels, colors, and graphics by the hundreds would certainly bring down his defenses, and he'd be vulnerable and susceptible to his very own poker chip greed.

Later on the day, he calls me and starts cussing me out for bringing them to him but I know he's wavering so I hone in and say: "so how many are you gonna get? the sale's going to be over soon". He says something about getting them under a thousand, maybe 700 or 800, I don't remember. But I say: "come on, you can do better!!! more than a thousand!!!!" He finally caves in and says: "okay, 1300".

BANG!!!! I just tore a $325 hole in his wallet!

But for some reason though, I don't really think this payback is hurting him. I think he's actually quite happy with buying more. And the sad thing is, I also bought another 700 Dune chips, bringing my total to 1350 (50 more than gmunny), so the moral of this story is kinda lost on me as well...
