Re: History of The Casino at Ritz Carlton chips?
Take my answer as a grain of salt. This is also IMO.
Why are they so expensive?
They are beautiful set, only 15k of chips total demons start from 25/100/500/1000/5000. Supply and demand drive price up. There are very few set that has $500's in large size 43mm. Very unique. Also, any chips from that area are very high in demand.
Where did they come from and how did those of you who are lucky enough to have them GET them?
The chips itself is from Ritz Carlton. The main supplier was Nevada Jack.net. I belief he purchase all 15K of them. Some of us are lucky because we paid for them. If you want to purchase them I know someone who has it available.
Why are some of them brand new, but the $100s are used.
Out of 15,000 chips I belief there were about 1500 were mint. Joe at Nevada Jack assemble the best set and he sold it to Homeempokerchips (Only 500 of them). Once of the Cters here purchase from HPC I belief it was ontheuppick.
My understanding the 100's was most common use at Ritz. There were not any mint 100's but they are still in excellent condition tho.
I hope this help.
