Just wondering...what sort of games do you usually play? And how many people do you need to cater for?
Unless you're planning a cash set and a tournament set or catering for 20 people, you may be able to put together a set with less chips and so be able to spend more per chip (perhaps some ceramics). You'd be surprised how much use you can make of a limited number of chips (I certainly was - originally, in my mind, 500 chips would cater for 10 people. Now I've put together a 200 chip travel set that can seat 9 comfortably!)
Anyway, just something to think about. If you're sure about the numbers and want customs then something like the Progens or Nexgens (Nexgens are too slippery for me!) which can take a label easily is probably the way to go. If you don't mind having a limited number of different color choices then you can label faux clay with a thin vinyl label. For more on the progens, there are already a couple of threads with others' thoughts. Using the "Search" function above can find them but here's a few comments I found:

Good luck with your decision.
