Wiki technology is great for collaborative documents. It definitely takes a different mind set than many of us are used to , and it is a bit scary to open things up. The History is a built in safeguard for viewing document changes. It would be an interesting experiment to see how things go.

We use the Confluence software (enterprise grade, for pay) at my place of employment, where I am encouraging its use. I would be interested to know the software you are choosing.
