Not true but you are welcome to believe what you want. It all boils down to the number of hands you play and folks selective memory. I played online today for just over 3hrs and played over 600 hands. Live, I would need to play between 19-21 hours to see that many hands.
The point being, you'll see a lot more variety in hands (suckouts, 2 outers, etc) in a much more compressed time frame so the game looks wilder.
