Injection molding on Sunflys?

So I was just made aware that Sunflys are injected molded(as are all ceramics I'm told), I was wondering if anyone could take a picture or two of their sunfly ceramics' and the injection spot? I hear its very small and smooth, but I'm curious if it's really noticable at all.

Re: Injection molding on Sunflys?

Every ceramic chip has it, caused by the production process, so you gonna have to deal with it anyway.

Thanks for the pics, that's not too bad! I'm just making sure that what I'm about to order is what I really want. I'm using dice chips now and I'm about to spend $1,000 on a new set of chips so I want to be positive they're good for me!

I was in the same boat.
The pic below is LARGE so they dimples LOOK severe. I CAN tell you in REAL life, I had to look hard to find them. They will not be noticed unless in the right light and LOOKING for them.

Also, did you get samples? I'd STRONGLY suggest you see a mock up of your chips before spending the $$$$. I went back and forth a few times to get it JUST RIGHT. Don't place BIG order until your 100% happy.

I love mine. Best of luck.

SAMPLES!!!!

FWIW, I didn't even know ceramics were injection-molded before this thread, even though I owned 500 NJ Desert Sands.

Re: Injection molding on Sunflys?

Before anyone asks, they are made from polyester resin pellets with no ceramic content. The high heat and pressure give them the ceramic properties. B&G, which doesn't make home game chips do not have injection marks. They most likely polish it off before printing.

Here is a pic of new ABC ceramics and their injection mark.
