Other than a fairly questionable call pre flop I don't disagree completely with his play. Post flop he has a flush and a gut shot straight draw. True his flush draw is two off from the nut flush (which you have) but the added gut shot draw semi makes up for it - and he is already invested in the pot. Calling your 1/3 pot size bet to see what develops makes sense to me. I assume with TPTK and a nut flush draw you wanted both players to hang around and build the pot - he did. Your bet after the turn maybe was a bit agressive given a straight possibility on the board without making the flush. After the turn he would only be beat by a Q-K so his riase to all in made sense.

Again I don't agree with him calling your initial bet of 3xBB pre flop with Q-6 suited but I have seen a lot of people play suited cards like that it doesn't surprise me. It is not an easy beat given where you were at both pre & post flop

Actually, he had an open-ended straight draw: An A would've done it for him, in addition to the 9.

So, basically, I've read the OP 3 times and can't find anything exceptional about this hand. Yes, your TPTK was winning, and yes, he hit a 6-outer when he thought he had a 15-outer... But it wasn't for a particularly big pot... This sort of thing happens to me 10 times a day (and I could quote several examples from my lunch break if you want). Moral of the story: raise more pre-flop. I'll usually pop it to $1-$1.25 from the cut-off in 10¢/25¢... and I'll still get called by a suited Q or K more often than not. Usually it's from a blind, but a lot of players are loose pre-flop when they're guaranteed last-action after the flop.

But the villians flush draw was a loser (not that he knew that).

Personally, nothing very remarkable about the hand; you had a decent hand on scary board with a big draw (nut flush) while he had a marginal hand with many draws (from his perspective) plus he was a SS.

Yep - thank you for the correction. I was actually thinking about that after I posted. That makes his play that much more "Acceptable" post flop. I still don't like the call pre flop but that's just me - too tight in a cash game

To me this is the biggest mistake the "Vilan" made.

If you were going to play the Q-6s would you have moved all in pre flop? (assuming you would even play that hand)
