Right or wrong it is what I've seen it many times and I've done similar plays myself. Generally someone with a strong hand does not want to blow you off your hand.
The line I see is usually "check raise to find out if you have a hand" then "if he just calls he must not have anything so I'll pot the turn". | If this is the case, then you definitely don't want to re-raise on the flop.
He could easily be betting TPTK and trying to make you pay to draw. Quote: |
Calling just didn't seem to be the best play but maybe it is better mathematically than raising, I just haven't done the math yet.
