A friend of mine did the same thing. The excess oil is reacting with moisture. Just continue to wipe the excess oil off as they dry back out and they should be fine. The oiling process is basicaly a way to break in new chips to resemble the way chips look after the natural oil in peoples hands has soaked into them. You do not need to soak them in oil just wipe them with a rag with mineral oil on it from time to time and after cleaning.
