I would recommend downloading a trial version of Tournament director to keep track of the blinds if you have a laptop or PC near to the table.

If you want to try and estimate the finish then tourney's usually end when the SB+BB = 6%-10% of the total chips on the table. i.e 8 player T1000 = 10%*8000 = 800 (6%= 480) = roughly earky finish at 150-300 and later finish at 300-600. For me it seems a pretty reliable method. Just alter the blind length to suit.

If it's just a tourney night and people aren't experienced players then it can pay off to have say 2- 2 hour tourneys. Yes the skill level is reduced but it's a good way to make sure people get a fair play in the night and get used to tourney format.
