Cash games are not that different from tourneys in most respects. Some difference, blinds do not go up, you an sit or quit any time.
You can play any stake, Fix or NL as you wish, any game you want. My games are usually fix limit holdem but pick your own favourites. Cash/ring games are the norm for poker, tournaments are a new thing stemming from the popularity of the TV shows. I like cash vs tourney as everyone is in the game all the time, in a tourney, the early bustouts are drinking beer until the tourney ends. As for picking seats, you can draw for seats if everyone arrives at the same time, otherwise just let everyone sit where they want. I think free choice of seats would be best as there will be less confrontation is someone wants to move to different seat, etc. |
