Hey guys,
In the last month i have received about 58 chips from various members on this forum.
Now i haven't really played much at a casino (twice) and majority of chips in australia are dice chips (about 90% of the market).
What i need to know is:
How do you work out what chips fell good as i have no basis ?
I have clay chips, ceramic, molded etc but have no clue on what feels good.
I have about 3 of each chip on average but some chips i only have one so what are some good methods to find out what feels good, or stacks well or slippery, all of those terms etc i have heard on various reviews but if anyone could help that would be fantastic.

Cheers | IMHO, you need about six to eight of each type to get a feel for how chips sound when they splash a pot, how they feel when you shuffle them, how they stack, etc. Get a real casino chip or two (clay and ceramic if available) to compare with home market types on feel. I think I sent you a Bellagio chip.
Check my PM also. This is really subjective though. It comes down to what feels good to you personally. For the factors you named, you're going to find many opinions on which chips are best.

Put your Paulsons in one hand and something else in the other. Listen to how nice they sound and how soft they feel and the rest should be easy.

Cheers | When it comes to feel, just touch them. If you like the feel of dice chips best, use them. (a psychiatric test may be needed) Just because the majority opinion says one chip is better, it should not prevent you from using what you like. You can get a fair evaluation of sound and looks with only a few of each chips. Stacking and shuffling is where you really need about eight chips for a good comparison. |

heya again...
I pm'ed ya a while ago... im the fellow aussie guy too....
I have just recieved my paulson private cardroom chips about a week and a half ago... and i am totally blown away....
Same deal as anyone else who gets 'trapped' in this forum of chips... I went from 500 desert palm real clays ( pretty chip, a little light compared to the pcr, good sound and shuffle, definately nice looking.... but slippery, oh my they are slippery ).... the 500 set of these is good for bigger games with colour ups and people who dont care about chips ( throwing, slopping etc )...
BUT, compared to the paulsons pcr....oh wow.... the pcr are heavier, sound more full when splashed....the colours are sensational and with the silver hotstamps look incredible....and these babys stack and dont budge.... solid as a rock.... truly sensational....
I bought 140 of them....just enough for a three or 4 person 'winner takes all' type of game.... so i have all bases covered with the cheaper large set and the smaller paulson set....
With the aussie dollar so high, seriously dude, listen to people and buy a small amount of the best chips you like.... then add to them slowly over time if you want more....i wish i had.... there is simply no other way if you find yourself on this website.....
