This is the answer the seller gave to the question as to where the chips came from:
"I bought these on ebay 2 and a half years ago from a guy who said he got them from a casino before they were destroyed. He didn't say which casino - I think to protect the guy who got them for him.? But I do know that these are the nicest feeling chips I've ever held. If I didn't need the money I would keep them forever. I paid 710 for them plus shipping. If I can't get close to that I'll keep them and stay in debt. So I can go either way with this. Money or chips. But you should know that you won't find better chips than these anywhere.
