We have a real problem with a few players that just take forever to decide what they're going to do. |
I have been thinking about that all afternoon. It isn't hard to use our timer to put the clock on someone, just give them until time-1 minute (same with genie, and all of the software timers). But what I was thinking had nothing to do with our timer. It has to do with the new timer (dice clock).
What if the dice clock was exactly that, a 1 minute clock for action. It would be easy to build, you could put a red led in that flashed for the last 10 seconds and you would be likely to get every chip case on earth to use one over the dice. It would be a fantastic promotions tool and would cost around a buck each to produce.
The reason why I think this would be more effective than a blind timer is that you just shouldn't be using a simple clock to time your tournaments. You should be using some form of tournament director; software, poker genie, poker ace, something that keeps track of the blinds and the structures. As well, a timer should be relatively easy to read and those little lcds aren't easy for more than one or 2 people to read, especially when they aren't backlit and the backlight would draw a watch battery down quickly.
