| Re: new timer I love your guys ideas. You are definitely thinking the same way we were when we developed our product. We wanted something that fit in our chipcase that didn't take out anything important. We realized that if you stack your deck of cards on top of the other in a standard chipcase, you have one empty card cavity for a poker timer (and not just a timer, but a tournament director-a timer that keeps track of structures, blinds, antes, levels, breaks, etc).
We designed the PokerAce to do just that.
We made this timer the smallest that it could be and still show everything you needed to know. If we ever had thought we could get this into the size of the 5 dice in our chipset we would have done everything we could to make that work. Turns out though, it is extremely difficult to make these things small and do everything you want. Our product is the width and height of 1 deck of cards and not quite 2 decks of card deep. In the 'about the poker ace' you can see a picture of it in a chipcase.
You could probably get a standard timer, like the dealer button into your 5 dice, plus a number showing the level, all of this using an LCD and running off of a watch battery, no backlight.
