| Re: Do you have a nemesis? Interesting topic. Thanks for mentioning me as one of yours, Matt. I know it all stems back to that HU hand we played way back at the Chicago CT meet-up. Let it go already!
Point of clarification, however... doesn't the word "nemesis" connote a single adversary? Batman has many enemies, but his nemesis is the Joker, right? The Riddler, the Penguin, and Two-Face are his enemies, but the Joker is his true nemesis.
But anyway, back on topic. The flip side of having a nemesis (or many) is that you play better against them. You concentrate more. I'd argue having tough opponents is a good thing (sometimes).
And there are no shortage of tough customers here at CT. I've heard it commonly mentioned that the skill and competition level you'll encounter at a regular old Thursday night tourney far outstrips anything else you might find online or even live. Winning a CT tourney is like getting through a phalanx of the best Spartan soldiers (I threw this in for Lisa, our resident Classics geek). There are really good players at every table.
My list:
Jojo (right back atcha, big guy!)
FSU
Brakedust
w16227
msmjcjjjas (abby99)
solberg (aka, the "tool")
spacemonkey
mhglmrt (mrticsay)
ratatosk (bolgenmod, aka "Toots")
And last, but not least, raiderjoe. The disturbing thing about Joe is that he owns my sorry poker-playing ass, and we both know it. |
