Just a comment on the Cash Game side of your breakdown (I don't like, or play many tournaments)...

I think it is a smart idea to get 2 500 piece sets to separate your tournament and cash game chips, as long as you can pull the tournament set off with 500 chips.

1) Depending on the stakes you are playing, you do not need a .25 and a .50 chip, just get whatever your small blind is.


2) I do not see the need for a $5 and a $10 chip (unless you are playing a $10/$20 game), I would get a $25 chip instead of the $10.


Just as an example, I host a .50/1 game:

.50: 100 (Just enough for everyone to have enough to post SB)
$1: 200 (1/2 of stack)
$5: 100 (Fill out rest of stack after $1's
$25: 100 (Color up when stacks get larger and for rebuys)
