bitTorrent is the next generation file transfer system. I was going to copy the wiki entry for it, but it's too technical, and I don't have the ability to explain it very well.

Basically you download a Torrent Client, which is the program that handles the file transfer. There are websites that basically are lists of .torrent "seeds" that are the directions to the ip addresses of the actual files. It is a shared download system, meaning they pull bits of information from many sources to complete your file, all the while you are also supplying bits of your file to others as well.

You can find TV episodes, movies, ahem software, etc. galore.
