What do you think?

I think I know how this is gonna go but I'm curious...

I currently have 630 Top hat and Cane hotstamps that I have meticulously sanded, cleaned, labelled and then oiled. Some picks are here...

So my question is...

I have 220 Arc Yellow Cherries that I want to add to this set as a Five denomination. I already have the labels, but sanding the Cherries will be an arduous and painstaking process. With every other denom labelled, you think I could just leave the Cherries and call em 5's or you think I should label them like the rest?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, I know, it's a lot of different denoms, but damn, I paid for the chips, I love chips, I want to use a lot of denoms (I got 25/50/100/200/500/1000 and a couple 5000...

Re: What do you think?

Let me get this straight....the spotted chips in the pictures are Paulson H&C that were hotstamped and you sanded the hotstamps off and put lables on them? And, you're considering sanding the hotstamps off Cherries to put more lables over them?

Re: What do you think?

Was that wrong? Ok, seriously, I did not sand the hotstamp entirely off. Really what I sanded was the clay "lip" for lack of a better term that gets raised up when the hot stamp is applied. Almost all the chips still have a gold hotstamp on them, it is just difficult to feel it as you run your finger over it because I sanded it. That way, the label is smooth when applied.

Plus, most were simply initialed hotstamps, and I didn't know the guy!

So, I guess you are saying I should not do that again...?

Re: What do you think?

They're your chips. I just don't think I would have done it. The labels look nice though, but you propably could have sold the spotted hotstamps as they were and used the nice artwork on a set of ASMs.

What were the initials?

Re: What do you think?

This is an interesting thread cuz I have a few hundred hot stamped Paulson H&C's I was thunking about doing this too (Not the starbursts Matthew )

I am glad to see it came out well. I also have about 1k hot stamped ASM's I would love to do this to but there is no recessed center so I don't think it would work as well

Re: What do you think?

I think you could go either way with the cherries. Leave them as is and use them as non-denoms/ncvs or sand them and label them.

Aren't the white with the green spots from Calgary?

Re: What do you think?

The white with green are Calgarys. The Cherries are Cherries and the rest are custom hotstamps someone here was selling. I also have 11 brown and orange 5000's which are some closed Casino that I now forget. When I get done with the whole set, I'm gonna take a bunch of pics and put em in the custom section.
