just a teaser. Detailed review to come soon, hopefully tomorrow but I am swamped at work and trying to take care of taxes so no promises.
quick thoughts:
PROs
Stacking: awesome
feel: pretty good, able to knuckle roll em.
texture: very very good
thickness: spot on
inlay area: no problems (god I wish I had these when I put on my FC labels)
MEHs
diameter: ok but seems to vary a little between colors
mold: same as original NexGens, I actually prefer the dice to the Las Vegas but I guess it is a personal preference
weight: seem a little light, but I would need a decent scale to check.
CONs:
hardness: the are very soft; can be damaged with a fingernail; gives them a nice feel, but can lead to nicked up edges
sound: make a very soft thud-clack. softer than any chip I've ever had. I like it better than slugged chips, but not as much as the old FCs. I am sure this is because the material is so soft.
more details on the above points (and pics although they are the same chips in the previous thread) to come soon, but that is pretty much the gist of it. If PI is able to price these $.10 or below and make any new colors that I am interested in (pink, light blue, day glows, chocolate, etc) I would definitely be down to buy some. If there are not any new colors, or the price is higher I would probably have to pass. Biggest issue is the softness, but I don't think that in normal home game use it would be a big deal.
Thanks for sending these my way Joe. Hopefull that will tide the nation over for now.
let the discussion begin.
