To oil or not to oil, that is the question..

I got 40 more Mohegan Sun Paulsons (up to 80 now), and Cleaned all of them.

Should I oil them or not? I'm pretty sure any oils, etc are off now, and they definitely look and feel sort of dry. Take it away.....sox

Just the clay edges right? not the inserts..?

I don't know if it's bad if clay chips are dry... Don't think so.
So only if the oil visually enhances the chip would I do so. Moreover, dark coloured chips seem to benefit more from oiling than light chips.

Try oiling one, see if you like it. If you use them, they'll get greasy anyway.

From a guy that oiled 500 new Paulsons....don't bother. First of all, there is so little exposed clay on these...second, it will not affect the look of them hardly at all...and third, the feel will barely change. Playing with them a bit will give you all the benefits of oiling them without all the hassle. Great chips.

That's exactly what I think I'm going to do. And thanks, these are great chips. I cant wait to have the guy over that I pretty much bought these to play with. 20 more on the way too.

I agree with the first reply. It is a waste of time to oil white chips. I oiled a few new white clay chips and I could not tell them from unoiled chips after I dryed them.

That is right, with white and lighter colour chips, you will hardy notice any difference between oil or not. With those giant inlays, there is not much surface for oil anyway. If you want to oil, I would suggest just doing the edges. That will be really easy.
