I recently got in my 1000 faux whites and was planning on coloring these chips using the fabric dye method Stonker used. Well, I was lazy and started looking through the house for a few items and this is the result of my afternoon.
Started with the following:
1 bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide
1 package of Lemon-Lime Kool-aid
1 package of Cherry Kool-aid
2 shish-kabob skeewers
2 plastic cups
2 clothes pins
Add 1/4 tsp of Kool-aid to 1/4 cup of Hydrogen Peroxide. Not sure if regular water would work but I read on the web that the Hydrogen Peroxide starts to break down the plastic and allows the color to penetrate the plastic.
I hung each chip for 20 mins on each side. Below are the results. Not a very quick method by any means, but proves there more than one way to color a faux clay!
Also, wanted to add there has been no color transfer to other white chips since I've been shuffling them for the last 15 mins.
