I agree, if it's your original custom design then it's your's to use on any medium.
For example - here's a plan I have for the near future:
I have a custom set of chipco chips. I cannot get 43mm chips from Chipco, however Joe from Palm is having 43mm ceramic blanks made that will be available soon.
I fully plan on having my artwork I used for my Chipco chips used to make myself a set of 43mm cash game chips and don't see a problem since I would be using my own custom design.
